Cris Eich's Biography

Cris Eich was born in 1965, in Mogi (Brazil) where she started working as an Illustrator in 1983 at a local graphic printer. Later she moved to São Paulo where she attended: several Drawing, Painting workshops; Gravure in Lasar Segall Museum; Human Figure Drawing in the Pinakotheke; Water Colour Painting and History in SENAC (Brazilian Trade Confederation Learning Centre). Cris holds also post-gradual degree in Art History at FAAP (Foundation Armando Alvares Penteado). She has worked with low temperature ceramics at Silvia Renard studio.
 
Cris’preferred technique is water colour. She started illustrating for children and youngsters during the 90’s and she has already illustrated sixty books with publishers such as Larousse, Richmond Publishing, Cambdrige University Press, Salamandra, Edições SM, DCL, Ática, Saraiva, Moderna Santillana, Positivo, Global, Companhia das Letrinhas, FTD, ARx Joven, Criamundo  Surkamp, etc.
 
Annually she participates in Ilustra Brasil exhibitions, organized by SIB – the Illustrator’s Society in Brazil. Many of her works have been selected an shown at Bibiana (Slovakia) in 2005, 2007 and 2009.

Cris Eich has developed an excellent illustration work for the book projects "Estúdio Sabiá" has managed in 2010. Cris is a first class professional in her area of expertise. The way she develops her characters, objects and scenarios is just marvellous. Apart from her irreprehensible use of colours and textures, her work proves she has an immense creative capacity.
